This is the frozen portion of the hydrosphere.

​Layers of the Earth

​The geosphere is made up of layers.

​

We live on the surface of Earth, which is called the crust.

​

​Below the surface, it is incredibly hot. Some rock is even melted.

​You also learned about interactions between spheres.

​Let's see if you can identify which two spheres are interacting in the following example.

​All four spheres interact with each other, but the biosphere, that is all life on Earth, would not exist without the other 3 spheres.

​We are going to first learn about the atmosphere and how it supports life on Earth.

​Gravity!!

​The atmosphere, which is a collection of different gasses, formed around Earth because of Earth's gravitational pull.

​Because of gravity, Earth pulls gas toward it.

​The atmosphere has 5 layers.

​The Ozone layer Is within the stratosphere and protects us from the sun's harmful rays.
