Gender

Latin nouns have three genders - masculine, feminine and neuter.
- We will worry about neuter nouns later!
Sometimes the gender is determined by the physical gender of the noun, but not always. It might be a good idea to just think of them as "ending groups" for now

Case

Latin nouns have seven cases - we are only working with nominative and accusative this chapter.
Nominative nouns are the subject of the sentence. They perform the verb's action.
Accusative nouns are the direct object of the sentence. They receive the verb's action.

Number

Latin nouns have two numbers - singular and plural.
A noun will be singular if only one person/place/thing/etc. is involved. It will be plural if there is more than one person/place/thing involved.
