We will KNOW how to apply our editing skills to an editing passage. 

We will UNDERSTAND that we must think deep about our editing skills to decide which answer to choose. 

We will BE ABLE to show mastery of editing skills by answering STAAR stem editing questions.

When we edit our writing or someone else's writing, we look for mistakes made to specific writing skills. We will remember those specific writng skills using the acronym C.U.P.S.

The acronym C.U.P.S. helps us remember that when we are editing, we must make sure there are no capitalization, understandable, punctuation, or spelling errors in our writing.
