​Sound: properties and elements.

​Sound: properties

• ​Intensity: refers to how strong-loud or weak-soft a sound can be-It allows us to distinguish between the sound of a plane taking off and the sound of a cellphone vibrating.

​Timbre

• This property of sound allows us to distinguish two sounds with equal frequency and intensity coming from different sources, which means that the timbre of sound lets us to identify the source that emits a sound.

• ​Example: to differentiate the sound emitted from a cat from the sound emitted by a dog.

​Tone

• ​Also called pitch.

• ​Allows us to distinguish high from low sounds or viceversa.
