Estimation

In maths, estimation means having a rough calculation of the value, number, quantity or extent of something.  ​

Is estimation involved?

Can you remember a time you used estimation?

Is there a difference between Estimation and Approximation?

​We can describe estimation as an educated guess. While approximation is a value or quantity that is very similar, but not exactly correct.

​

​Approximation is the process of using rounding to determine a fairly accurate value.

​

Rounding off is the process of making a number less exact, but easier to work with, by rounding off to a specific digit.
