Line plots are a way for use to see a set of data more clearly. They make it especially easy to see the most a least common values in a set.

Line plots organize data in ascending order and show how many numbers in the data set match a value.
For example this line plot shows that 4
Crayons are 3 1/4 inches long while only 1
Crayon is 3 inches long.

In 4th grade you should be able to find the most common number (mode), the middle number (median), and the difference between the highest and loswest numbers (range).

Range

Range just tells you how big a number set is!

To find how big a number set is you just need to the know the difference between the highest and the lowest numbers of the set.



range = highest number - lowest number

Mode

MOde sounds like MOst for a reason. 🧐🤪

Finding the mode means you're finding the most commonly used number.

The median number is the one that is in the middle of the data set.
