Slope is the constant rate of change between two points on a line.

Think of steepness! How steep is a line going up or down? That is the slope!​

You may recognize that slope is equal to the ​rise divided by the run!

What is slope?

From left to right, the line is INCREASING (going up).

​​Positive Slope

From left to right, the line is DECREASING (going down).

Negative Slope

The line is staying flat so the slope is zero!

Zero Slope

The line is going up and down, not left to right. (Vertical Line)

Undefined Slope
