Non Examples of a Polygon

***Polygons do not have GAPS anywhere

Quadrilaterals

polygons with four straight sides are called quadrilaterals

Parallel Lines

Parallel Lines are lines that will NEVER cross or touch each other!

A rectangle has (2) sets of Parallel lines.

For Example:

Side A is parallel to side B

and

Side C is parallel to side D

Parallel lines

Some Figures have four sides but only 1 set of Parallel Lines

Rhombus

A rhombus may not have any right angles, BUT it does have (2) sets of Parallel lines!

**Remember a "set" means two, just like a "pair" means two

Parallelogram

These are four-sided figures that have EXACTLY two sets of Parallel Lines.

Parallelogram? YES!

ALL squares can also be classified as parrallelogram because squares have (2) sets of Parallel Lines!
