​Setting and Context

-Begins in Berlin, Germany 1942

-Most of the story takes place at Out-With (Auschwitz) Concentration/Death Camp during the Holocaust and World War II

-Plot: Bruno, a young German boy, moves with his family to Out-With when his father takes a position assigned to him by The Fury. At Out-With, Bruno befriends a young Jewish boy at the camp named Shmuel. Their friendship will be tested under the circumstances in which they live.​
