Acids

When a solution has a PH of less than 7, it is acidic. Common acids are citric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, etc. Acidic solutions have a high concentration of hydrogen ions (H+). Acids are good conductors of electricity. The taste sour, are corrosive and when turnes blue litmus red.

Bases

When a solution has a PH of more than 7 it is basic. Common bases are Sodium Hydroxide, Lithium Hydroxide, Calcium Hydroxide. Basic solutions have high concentrations of hydroxide ions. Bases taste bitter and feel slippery. Bases turn red litmus blue.

Salts

Salts are compounds that form from acids mixed with bases, consisting of ionic bonded cations and anions. Salts have a dry feel because of its hydrophilic properties (attraction to/aborbs water). The can either be Acidic, basic or neutral.
