- Review the place value chart to remember the names of the place values

- On the right side of the decimals point, each place value has a "ths" at the end

- On the left side, there are no "ths"

Multiplying By Powers of Ten

• Multiplying a digit by 10 moves the number 1 place value to the LEFT

• Multiplying a digit by 100 moves the number 2 places to the LEFT

• Dividing a digit by 10 moves the number 1 place value to the RIGHT

• Dividing a digit by 100 moves the number 2 place value to the RIGHT
