Methods of Voting - Unit 9

This type of voting may use hand-marked paper ballots, machines that physically mark paper ballots, or direct-recording electronic (DRE) machines, depending on your location.

Voters who will not be able to vote in-person on Election Day request a ballot in advance and fill it out at home. The ballot is returned either by mail or by dropping it off at a designated location before the deadline.

This method allows eligible citizens to cast their ballots before Election Day. Ballots are either cast in person at a polling place or marked at home on hand-marked paper ballots and mailed back to voting officials or deposited in a secure ballot drop box.
