Act 1 Scene 1

Scene 1: A 5th grade classroom. Emily, Camila, and Johan are sitting at their desks. Emily looks a bit unsure while Camila and Johan are excitedly discussing their love for reading.

Camila: (excitedly) I can't believe how many books we've read this year! I feel like we're becoming real reading masters.

Johan: (smiling) Yeah, and it's so cool how we can travel to different worlds just by reading. I loved that adventure book we read last month. It felt like I was right there with the characters.

Emily: (hesitantly) I... I guess so. But sometimes I feel like I'm not as good at reading as you guys.

Camila: (reassuringly) Don't worry, Emily. Everyone reads at their own pace. The important thing is that you're trying and enjoying the stories.

Johan: (encouragingly) Yeah, and remember how you explained that tricky part in the space book? You understood it better than anyone else!

Emily: (smiling slightly) Thanks, guys. I guess I just need to keep practicing.

(The bell rings, signaling the end of class. The scene fades out.)

Scene 2

Scene 2: [The same classroom, a few weeks later. Emily, Camila, and Johan are sitting at their desks again. This time, Emily looks much more confident.]

Emily: (excitedly) Guess what, guys? I finished that mystery book we were reading, and I figured out who the culprit was before the end!

Camila: (impressed) Wow, Emily! That's amazing! You really are becoming a reading master.

Johan: (grinning) See? We knew you could do it. You're getting better and better every day.

Emily: (confidently) Thanks! I feel so much more confident now. Reading is actually really fun when you give it a chance.

Camila: (nodding) Totally! And it's great that we can share our thoughts and help each other out. We're all in this together.

Johan: (raising his hand) How about we start a new reading challenge? This time, let's see who can read the most mystery books!

Emily: (clapping her hands) I'm in! Let's do it. We can even make a chart to keep track of our progress.

Camila: (excitedly) And we can have a celebration at the end with prizes for everyone. This is going to be so much fun!

Johan: (raising his hand) I vote we start right now. Who's with me?

Emily and Camila: (together) We are!

(The three friends high-five each other and start planning their reading challenge, excited about the adventures and knowledge that await them in the pages of their books.)
