Integers on a Number Line

We describe integers using magnitude - distance and direction.

Numbers that have the same distance from zero but in different directions are opposites.

-3 can be read as "the opposite of 3"

-(-3) can be read as the opposite of the opposite of 3.

Integers are whole numbers are their opposites.

We use integers to represent real world situations.

x > 0 represent positive numbers.

x < 0 represents negative numbers.

Each unit in a number line is equal distance from each other.

Number lines can be written as fractions, decimals, or whole numbers.

All numbers follow the same rules on the numberline.
