​sarcoptic mange causes :

​It is caused by having hyper sensitivity to the saliva and feces of mites. It often leads to skin legions.

Mange is a skin and coat condition in horses caused by microscopic parasites called mites. Although mange is not common in horses , specific conditions can lead to a mite infestation that can spread rapidly between horses in direct contact with one another.

​The singes of sarcoptic mange irregular skin lesions, severe itching and sometimes biting of affected skin areas and decreased feed consumption. Also sores and bald patches to appear on the head, neck, flanks and abdomen

​It is treated by calling your vet and they might prescribe a lime-sulfur solution to be applied by dip , spray or sponge.

​You can prevent this from happening by keeping an infected horse away for all other horses.

​It is a zoonotic disease which means it can easily be passed on to humans and other horses.
