​Finding the Main Idea

Today, you are going to reread three sections in your book, Lewis & Clark:

• “The United States Doubles in Size;”

• “Sacagawea Helps the Corps;“ and

• “An Open Door to the West”

​As you read, think about the following questions:

• What are the most important main ideas?

• What evidence supports those ideas?
