• Trains made it easier for farmers to send goods around

The Industrial North

● North focused on Manufacturing (making things)

● Cities like New York
Boston, and Philadelphia
were industrial hubs

North-South Economic Relationship

● South provided raw materials to Northern

factories

● North sold finished goods back to the South
