كَانَ الْعَصْفُورُ يَشْعُرُ بِالْبَرْدِ مَعَ اقْتِرَابِ فَصْلِ الشِّتَاءِ. بَحَثَ عَنْ مَأْوًى دَافِئٍ يَحْتَشِي فِيهِ. وَجَدَ شَجَرَةً كَثِيفَةَ الْأَوْرَاقِ وَصَنَعَ عَشّا بَيْنَ أَغْصَانِهَا. كُلَّمَا اشْتَدَّتِ الرِّيَاحُ، كَانَ الْعَصْفُورُ يَخْتَبِيء فِي عَشِّهِ. مَرَّتِ الأَيَّامُ وَالطَّقْسُ أَصْبَحَ أَكْثَرَ بَرْدًا، لَكِنَّ الْعَصْفُورَ كَانَ آمِنًا فِي مَنْزِلِهِ الصَّغِيرِ
