Case : The form that a noun or a pronoun takes to show its relationship to other words in a sentence. In English, there are three cases:
nominative, objective and possessive.

The form of a noun is the same for both the nominative case and the objective case.For example, a noun used as a subject will have
the same form when when used as an indirect object

The Nominative Case

I, you ,he,she , it ( Singular Pronouns)

We, you, they ( Plural Case)

When a pronoun is the subject of a sentence,it is in the nominative case.

EX: It is my dog.

The Nominative case

Nominative pronouns are often referred to as subjective pronouns or subjective case. They are the
subject of a verb and identify who or what performs the action in a sentence.

Ex: Hedecided to leave early

They bought a house

The sunshines bright at noon

Using Pronouns as Subjects

The subject of a verb should be in the nominative case.

Ex: I like classical music. [ I is the subject of like]

Ex: Did he and she sell tickets? [ he and she are the subject of did sell]

They called while we were away [They is the subject of called.We is the subject of were]

Compound subject

A compound subject is formed when two or more simple subjects share the same verb and are connected by a coordinating
conjunction such as "and," "or," or "nor." Each subject can be a noun or a pronoun, and they work together to perform the action of
the verb.

Using "and": This indicates that both subjects are involved in the action.

Using "or": This indicates that one of the subjects will perform the action, but not both.

Either the cat or the dog is making a mess

Using "nor": Similar to "or," this indicates that neither of the subjects will perform the action.

Neither the teacher nor the students were aware of the change

Predicate Nominative

A predicate nominative is a noun or pronoun that follows a linking verb and renames or identifies the subject of the
sentence. A personal pronoun used as a predicate nominative follows a linking verb, usually a form of the verb be ( am,
is, are,was, were, be, or been)

The last one to leave was he ( he follows the linking verb and identifies the subject one)
