German has formal and informal ways to speak. We're going to learn the informal way. The next video will teach you how to ask for people's names and introduce yourself.

Typing in German

We all have international keyboards! To use yours, just flip your screen so you have a touchscreen keyboard and try introducing yourself on the next slide by holding down the S to get the ß symbol.

Let's practice!

We'll toss a ball to learn names.
Person throwing asks "wie heißt du"?
Person catching says "Ich heiße . . ."

Names BINGO

Ask your classmates "wie heißt du"?
They'll answer: Ich heiße . . .
When they do, write their name in a box on the bingo grid.
You can write your own name once!
