Lonnie Johnson was born on October 6th 1949. His mom was a nurse, while his dad was a WWII veteran. At a young age, his dad explained to him the basics of technology. When he was a young boy, He made a go kart out of steel frame and a lawn mower engine. He also tried to make rocket fuel, and that almost ended badly.
