The bell rang. "Oh no! I'm going to be late for science! I've got to go," said Cassie to her friend Tom. Tom rolled his eyes and said, "Little Miss Perfect can't be late." This upset Cassie. She hated when people gave her a hard time for trying to do the right thing, especially Tom. "Quiet you," she said while swinging at Tom with her folder. He narrowly dodged the strike and said," Be careful now. Attacking another student is a level two offense." Then he smiled at her.

You are on the famous island fortress, Alcatraz. Its walls hold many secrets, dating back to its days as a military fort and then a prison. As you explore its mysterious hallways and cells, you are about to find out why so many people have found the rock such a fascinating – and terrifying – place. Will you overcome your fear and escape the island? Or will you remain trapped within its walls forever? “Don’t worry, they won't even know we're gone,” you whisper to your best friend Taryn as you lean out of the cell you're exploring.

The doorbell rang. Scott ran down the stairs. He looked through the peephole and then opened the door. The mailman stood there holding a package. "Is your mother or father home?" Scott shook his head. The mailman handed Scott a bulky scanning device and said, "Sign here, please." Scott grabbed the stylus and scrawled his name.

I cautiously entered the old, creaky mansion with my friends, feeling a mix of fear and curiosity. "Are you sure this place is haunted?" whispered Mark, his eyes wide. I nodded, scanning the dusty rooms with my flashlight. Suddenly, a door creaked open, and we all jumped. "Maybe it's just the wind," suggested Sarah. I tired to feel brave. "Let's stick together," I said, my voice a bit shaky. We explored room after room, uncovering eerie shadows and mysterious objects.

Brian could not bear to be on the roof of the skyscraper any longer. He wasn't usually afraid of heights, but the wind was so strong and Rufus kept messing with him. "Would you try to land on your feet or your head?" Rufus asked with a straight face. Rufus could tell that he was getting to Brian, which only encouraged him to keep going. Rufus loved to bother Brian. "Let's go look over the edge, Brian," he suggested, knowing full well that Brian would refuse.

Carrie and Kylie giggled. Neither of them knew what they had just found. Carrie thought that they had discovered a cool looking rock, and Kylie had no idea that they were holding a real life dinosaur egg. This surprise would dawn on them later when they brought the egg home. Carrie was using the egg as a paperweight, so she kept the egg under her desk lamp. But this egg would soon hatch, and Carrie and Kylie would feel surprised. They were about to have the adventure of a lifetime!

You and your friend, Alex, sat in the backyard, dreaming about building robots. "Imagine having robots that do our homework for us!" you exclaimed. Alex grinned, "Yeah, and we could build one to clean our rooms too!" You both smiled, excited by the possibilities. "What if we made a robot that could make the coolest snacks ever?" you suggested. Alex's eyes lit up, "Pizza-making robot, here we come!" You loved that idea too!

Sid saw the ball floating through the air. He knew it was coming to him. He positioned himself where he thought it was going to land. Then, a large cloud moved in the sky. The sun blazed and Sid couldn't see anything. This made him worried.
"Thump!" the ball landed right in front of Sid. Coach yelled across the field: "Pick it up, Sid! Throw it to second." Sid couldn't see the ball in front of him. All he could see were spots. The coach threw his hat on the ground and continued to yell, "Pick it up, Sid! NOW!"
