TEA Rubric for Short Constructed Response

​This is a quick reference rubric you can use to remind you how to get full credit on your short constructed responses.

Remember, these are not extended responses, these are short answer questions.

Activity: Part 1

You have a set of short answer responses to the prompt: What is the central idea of the article? Support your answer with evidence from the article. They go with "Steam and Sail."

• Your group will use the rubric to rate each response. you must state why your gave it the rating you did.

• Post each strip with your rating and reasoning on the anchor chart.

• When all of the groups have finished, we will compare how we have created each response.

Activity: Part 2

You will now complete your short constructed response for "Junior Park Rangers" under the extended response section. You will use the RACE method. You only get 475 words.

Now you will use R.A.C.E to write a short constructed response to "Junior Park Rangers"
