Examples:

verb phrase - have been waiting (no subject)

prepositional phrase - during the storm (no subject or verb)

Examples:

​PREpositional Phrase: the adjective phrase

A prepositional phrase that modifies a noun or a pronoun is called an adjective phrase.

It tells what kind or which one.

Examples:

Two of my friends are making a video about school life.

The video won't include all of the students in our class.

It will relate the activities of five students at school and in their neighborhood.

Perpositional Phrase: The Adverb Phrase

​a prepositional phrase that modifies a verb, an adjective, or an adverb is called an adverb phrase. (tells how, where, and to what extent.

Examples:

After lunch, the girls met as members of the Book Club.

Then the boys, also active in the Book Club, came to the meeting.

The girls had started swiftly for their own good.
