Tessellation (or Tiling) is when we cover a surface with a pattern of flat shapes so that there are no overlaps or gaps

What is Tessellation?

1. Cut out a 2" square

2. Draw a squiggle line

3. Cut on the line

4. take the piece and tape it to another part of the square to make a new shape.

5. Trace the new shape across the whole page

6. Turn it into an animal or object.

Steps

The shape is repeated vertically or horizontally

Translate

a pattern where the repeating shapes fit together by rotating 90 degrees

Rotate

you cut a shape out of paper, then flip it over, the flipped shape looks like a mirror image of the original shape
