What is a percent?

1. Percent just means part of 100.
2. Percent is a ratio that compares a number to 100.
3. Percent can be expressed as a decimal and as a fraction.

1.Write the percent as a decimal by moving the decimal two places to the left in the percent

(35% ----> 0.35)

2 Multiply the quantity times the decimal

(0.35 x 80 = 28)
