​Zero conditional

Use

We use the zero conditional to talk about situations that are always ​true, events and results that always follow or in instructions.

​

​Form

We form conditional sentences with if clause + result clause. The zero conditional uses the simple present in the if clause and the simple present or an imperative in the result clause:

​1. If you mix blue and yellow, you get green.

Use

We use the first conditional to talk about a possible action or situation in the future, and the result or effect that follows.

​

​Form

We form conditional sentences with if clause + result clause. The zero conditional uses the simple present in the if clause and will/might in the result clause:
