​As we've learned so far, capitalism is the economic system the U.S. uses.

Communism

​Communism is another popular type of economic system. This type of economic system is also a form of government. If a country's government is communist, that country also uses a communist style economy.

The difference between the two

​Both are economic systems.​

​However, only one is also a type of government.

Most capitalist countries use a democratic style of government in which the people who live in that country vote to make a lot of the decisions.

Communist countries do not give their people an option. Whatever the government says, goes. ​
