Specialised Movement Skills

Specialised movement skills are specific skills used in a particular sport or activity. Examples include a mark in Australian Rules football, a spike in volleyball, a keeper’s save in ice hockey and a fast break in basketball.

Specialised Movement Sequences

​Specialised movement sequences are a combination of specialised movement skills to form a sequence.

Example: dance routines, which might include leaping, falling, rising, stepping, holding and lifting

Skilled Performance:

Choose an elite athlete that you believe is a skilled performer.

1. Create a collage of photos of this athlete in performance.

2. List the characteristics that makes this athlete a skilled performer.

3. At the elite level, what makes this athlete better than other elite athletes in the same sport. (For example, Roger Federer in comparison to Bernard Tomic)
