If I put the balls into equal groups it is easier to count them.

Each group has 12 balls​

1 group of 12​

1 group of 12​

1 group of 12​

How many balls?

Can be written as 12+12+12=36

3 groups of 12

Can be written or we can skip count in 12s 12; 24; 36​

​You can verify the answer by counting all the balls one-by-one​
