Now that Ralph has decreed that they will go to the mountain to light the fire and confront the beast, Jack leads the way and all the boys follow. Ralph feels helpless. He has been biting his fingernails down to the quick.

​When they suggest actually killing the person in a fake hunt and Jack says you could just use a littlun for it, EVERYONE laughs - that includes Ralph AND Simon.
