Any vs Every
Any en every betekenen allebei ‘elk’ en/of ‘iedere’, maar je maakt hierbij wel onderscheid. Any gebruik je hier namelijk in de betekenis van ‘iedere willekeurige’, terwijl every ‘letterlijk alle’ betekent.
You can come by any day you want’. Het kan hier dus gaan om iedere dag, dus een willekeurige dag.
You have to come every day. Hier gaat het er dus om dat je elke dag aanwezig moet zijn.
