​We use would like to ask polite questions. We can also use would to answer questions.

Example:

• Would you like a cup of tea?

​• Yes, I would like a cup of tea.

When we are giving something to another person, we say: Here you are.

​Example:

​• Would you like a glass of milk?

​• Yes, I would like a glass of milk.
