How can you solve for missing side lengths of a right triangle?
By Ms. May
2
It explains the relationship between the sides of a RIGHT triangle. sides A & B are called 'legs', while side C is known as the 'Hypotenuse'
3
Who is he?
The hypotenuse( always c) is the longest side of the triangle, located directly across from the right angle! In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse side is equal to the sum of squares of the other two sides.
in other words a^2+b^2 = c^2
4
Pythagorean Theorem explains the relationship of the side lengths of RIGHT TRIANGLES.
Right Triangles have 2 legs & a hypotenuse
Hypotenuse is the longest side and across from right angle.
the formula is a^2+b^2= c^2, where a & b are sides and c is hypotenuse
the formula can help find any of the 3 missing sides
If 3 side lengths make the formula true, those lengths CAN form a right triangle, its known as a PYTHAGOREAN TRIPLE

one leg = 2, the other = 3, hypotenuse=5
which is the formula in correct way?
2^2-3^2=5
5^2-3^2=2^2
2^2+3^2=5
2^2+3^2=5^2
