Step 1: Expert Group (20 mins)

The class will be divided into four expert groups.​

• Group 1: Gender

• Group 2: Age

• Group 3: Social Class

• Group 4: Ethnicity

Step 1: Expert Group (15 mins)

In your assigned groups, discuss the following questions. Use your notebook to take down notes.

• Explain how the media can set the agenda for what is seen to be important in society.

• Identify and describe two examples.

Note: You are free to use the textbook (p. 233-234) and/or the internet.

Step 2: Home Group (5 mins)

Make your own group. Make sure to include members from 1, 2, 3 and 4 expert groups.

Step 2: Home Group (35 mins)

In your groups, make a presentation that answers the following:​

• Explain how different social groups use the media differently.

• Identify one example for each group.​
