6
To say what you can do or cannot do, you can use pouvoir in the present tense.
In all cases, pouvoir will be followed by another verb in the infinitive, unless that verb is implied.

Regardless of the adjectives you use in French, you use plus (meaning ‘more’), moins (meaning ‘less’) and aussi (meaning ‘as’) to make comparisons. So, it is actually a lot simpler in French than in English.
Comparing things
You can also use que (here meaning ‘than’ or ‘as’) when you want to make it absolutely clear what you are comparing.

Anne: Mardi, malheureusement.

Describing people and things
You can describe people or things with adjectives. In French, the adjective will agree in gender (masculine or feminine) and number (singular or plural) with the noun it is used with. Usually this means that, unless it already ends with an -e in its masculine form, the adjective will end with an -e if it is used with a feminine noun. And normally, unless it already ends with an -s or an -x in its singular form, it will end with an -s when it is used with a noun in the plural.
30
The position of adjectives
The normal position for adjectives in French is after the noun.
Il y a un film français à la télévision, ce soir.
Il achète toujours des voitures étrangères.
However, the adjectives beau, bon, grand, petit, jeune (young), joli, vieux, long, dernier (last), gros (big), nouveau are generally placed before the noun.
