​-When the United States was established it was one of the first countries in the world that allowed its citizens to vote for their leaders. Yet the right to vote was still very restricted. The only people that were allowed to vote were white men who owned land. This meant that only wealthy landowners were the ones making decision in America.

-After the election of Andrew Jackson, the United States expanded SUFFRAGE, or the right to vote, to all white men. No longer were white men required to own land to vote. This greatly expanded the number of voters in elections. More people were now allowed to vote in elections.

1) The National bank of the United States was extremely powerful and it controlled the nation's money supply. Jackson viewed this bank as a bank made up of elitists (extremely rich) ran by private bankers. He opposed (was against) the national bank. When Jackson was given the option to sign a renewed bank bill, he decided to veto it instead.

Andrew Jackson is also credited with the "spoils system" where loyal supporters of Andrew Jackson were given government jobs. Jackson believed elites ran the government, the "spoils system" resulted in many government officials being replaced by his political supporters, many of whom were perceived to be unqualified.
