Essential Question
What forms of reasoning and relevant, sufficient evidence is needed in order to produce an argument? How can I quickly and effectively craft a proper argument?

Instructions for Today
You will select a random stance on a topic.
Someone else will have the opposing stance.
Afterwards, you will have ten minutes only to write your argument on paper.

Instructions for Today
4. Each debate will last approximately 3 minutes. 1 minute each to present your claim, and 30 seconds each for refutation.
5. If you wish, you can have a classmate read your paper. HOWEVER, THEY CAN ONLY READ WHAT IS WRITTEN ON THE PAPER VERBATIM
6. After we both go, the class will cheer for each side. Whoever cheers the loudest is the winner.
7. You are the judges, but I am the jury, meaning you can be overruled if necessary!

During this time, you should be writing on your sheet of paper crafting your argument. Your argument should contain at least two claims and relevant and sufficient evidence. These must be written on your paper.
