States of Matter

• ​Gas-matter that can move freely sometimes invisible

​Matter can CHANGE

• ​Matter can change from a liquid to a gas when it is heated up to its boiling point.

• ​This change is called evaporation.

​Condensation

• ​Occurs when warm air hits a cooled surface

• ​occurs naturally during the water cycle.

Texture

• ​How an object feels

• ​smooth

• ​rough

• ​bumpy

​Water Vapor

• ​The gasesou state of water

• ​when water turns into a gas, it is called vapor.

• ​can be seen over a hot pot

• ​exists in the clouds

​Temperature

• ​How hot or cold something is.

• ​Measured by a thermometer

• ​We use degrees fahrenheit.

​Solution Vs Mixture

• ​You can mix your matter

• ​two or more ingredients makes a solution or a mixture.

• If you can still see your two types of matter and are able to easily separate them, it is a mixture, like a salad.

• If you are not able to easily separate them, and cannot see the two ingredients, it is a solution.

• ​to mix a solid into a liquid until you cannot see the solid anymore. It disappears.
