Matter is anything that occupy space and has  mass. There are three (3) phases of matter-solid,  liquid, and gas.Last week, we discussed that solid  object has its own color and shape. It has definite color  and shape.

18

Solid is a state of matter. It has some observable  characteristics. Object that has its own and definite size,  shape and texture is called solid. By using a tape  measure or a meter stick, we can tell the size of the solid if  it is short or long. Its weight may be heavy or light by using  a weighing scale. While looking and touching the object,  we can tell the texture if it is rough, smooth, hard and soft.  Furthermore, the molecules of solid are compact with  each other that is why solid is hard.
