• ​Measuring changes in resource usage helps you to calculate cost savings.

• Find simple, practical measuring techniques​

• Measure consumption to determine how much of a resource is being used (e.g. printer toner cartridges or paper reams)

• Estimate waste production as an indication of business efficiency

• Calculate greenhouse gas emissions to see if your business is meeting environmental sustainability goals

• Measure resource use consistently to ensure accurate statistics

• Document resource usage to demonstrate the importance of environmental sustainability

• ​Daily operations (e.g. invoices and other documents)

• ​Runs out of a required resource

• ​Purchases a resource that it doesn’t use much of

• ​Purchases a resource that is too expensive

• ​Inadvertently purchases resources not needed for their operations

• ​Purchases resources that are harmful to the environment.
