Pecahan biasanya dinyatakan dengan lambang a/b (dibaca a per b) dengan a = pembilang dan b = penyebut
Bagian dari pecahan tersebut besarnya harus SAMA
Contoh pecahan : 1/3. dimana 1 sebagai pembilang dan 3 sebagai penyebut. Dengan kata lain 1/3 adalah 1 bagian dari 3
"per" dalam pecahan sama artinya dengan "bagi"
