Example 1: I would rather listen to pop music than rock

Example 2: I would rather not have any salad in my breakfast

Would rather = Lebih suka

..... would rather/would rather not ..... than

Sam WOULD RATHER walk to school THAN go by bus

Sam WOULD RATHER NOT go to school by bus

Example 1: You had better ask a doctor about it

Example 2: You had better not lie to me again

Had better = lebih baik (guna untuk nasihat, amaran, ancaman)

You HAD BETTER not use your dad's credit card without asking

(lebih baik awak jangan guna kad kredit ayah awak tanpa kebenaran)

Example 1: She should be more careful when she drives

Example 2: You should go to that new restaurant

Example 3: You should not come to school late

Should = patut

You SHOULD buy this shirt. It's on discount.

(Awak patut beli baju ini. Ianya ada diskaun)

SENTENCE: It's a good idea for you to go shopping during the sales (should)

REWRITE: You should go shopping during the sales
