What is OSCE???

OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) is a multi-station, clinical skills assessment method that is based on objective testing and direct observation of student performance.

STATION 1

• Scenario

  Mr. Z, 55 years old male diagnosed with Carcinoma Pyriform Sinus, underwent radiation therapy. He is on portex tracheostomy tube – size 8. He is admitted in B ward with the complaints of tube block.

  
  

• Action

  Perform tracheal suctioning procedure.

STATION 2

• Scenario

  Mrs. X, diagnosed with Chronic Otitis Media in the right ear. She underwent tymphanoplasty last week and has come for ear dressing.

  
  

• Action

  Perform the ear bandaging procedure. 

STATION 3

• Scenario

  Master T, an 8-year-old child, had recurrent episodes of tonsillitis. He underwent tonsillectomy and is received two hours ago in the post-operative ward.

  
  

• Action

  1.    Write the priority nursing interventions to be carried for this child.

  2.    Give appropriate health education for parents (at least five points)

STATION 4

• Scenario

  Ms. G, 19 years diagnosed with acute otitis media. On conservative management. Came to B ward and got admitted for further management. She is on Ciplox ear drops – 3 drops in bilateral ears

• Action

  Perform the ear drop instillation procedure.

STATION 5

• Scenario

  Mr. K came to ENT OPD with complaints of excessive cerumen (ear wax) impaction in the right ear. The doctor recommends ear irrigation procedure.

• Action

  Perform the ear irrigation procedure.
