Tipe Jenis-Jenis Kalimat

Dalam pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dikenal: Kalimat Majemuk, Kalimat Majemuk bertingkat, dll

Disebut juga INDEPENDENT CLAUSE atau KALIMAT INDUK

Artinya dia bisa berdiri sendiri tanpa bantuan kata hubung

Kalimat yang tidak bisa berdiri sendiri

Karena fungsinya sebagai penjelas

Atau berfungsi sebagai anak kalimat

kalimat yang tersusun dari dua INDEPENDENT CLAUSE

INDUK KALIMAT + INDUK KALIMAT

Dihubungkan oleh conjunction (kata hubung).

Julia sleeps (Julia tidur)

She is driving a car (Dia (perempuan) sedang menyetir sebuah mobil)

My mom bought new skirts (Ibuku membeli rok-rok baru)

I clean my room, and I wash the dishes (Aku membersihkan kamarku, dan aku mencuci piring)

Independent clause pertama : I clean my room

Independent clause kedua : I wash the dishes

Conjunction : and

You can watch a movie, or you can listen to a song (Kamu bisa menonton film, atau kamu bisa mendengarkan lagu)

Independent clause pertama : you can watch a movie

Independent clause kedua : you can listen to a song

Conjunction : or

Hanya boleh terdiri dari SATU INDUK KALIMAT (INDEPENDENT CLAUSE)

Tapi boleh memliki banyak ANAK KALIMAT (DEPENDENT CLAUSE)

Independent Clause : I bring the book

Dependent Clause : That you want

Complex sentence : I bring the book that you want

Independent Clause : He's Happy

Dependent Clause: Because he has friends

Complex Sentence: Because he has friends, he's happy.
