Comparative and superlative adjectives

After comparatives you can use "than"

We use -er for short words. Ex; cheap-cheaper/ large-larger / fast -faster / small-smaller.

Also use -er for two -syllable words that end in -y (-y---ier). Ex; lucky- luckier/ easy-easier/ early- earlier.

We use more ... for longer words (two syllables or more): Ex; more serious / more expensive / more comfortable.

The superlatives form is -est or most.

-est for short words

most... for long words

long- longest / hot - hottest

/ har-hardest

most famous / most boring / most difficult

We normally use "the" before a superlative. "the most intelligent"

BAD / WORSE / WORST

FAR /FURTHER / FURTHEST / FARTHEST
