Statistical Graphs Unit Review

Students will feel at ease and prepared for their unit test.

Students will recall the data and statistics learning that has occurred throughout the unit.

6.DS.1: Recognize a statistical question as one that anticipates variability in the data related to the question and accounts for the variability in the answers. Understand that a set of data collected to answer a statistical question has a distribution which can be described by its center, spread, and overall shape

6.DS.2: Select, create, and interpret graphical representations of numerical data, including line plots, histograms, and box plots. 

6.DS.3: Formulate statistical questions; collect and organize the data (e.g., using technology); display and interpret the data with graphical representations (e.g., using technology).

6.DS.4: Summarize numerical data sets in relation to their context in multiple ways.

Data: information in number form

Frequency: How often something happens

Outliers: a piece of data that has a value much less than or much greater than the rest of the data

Range: The difference between the minimum value and the maximum value in a data set.

Minimum: the piece of data that has the least value in a set of data.

Maximum: the piece of data that has the most value in a data set.

Statistical questions are questions that can have more than on answer.

What is 2+2? Who is the leading scorer in MLB? What are the measurements of Northside MS,? None of these are statistical questions.
