Character Traits Vs. Character Feelings

Raul wanted to cry. This morning, he woke up late and missed the bus. Then, at lunch they didn’t have any pizza left in the cafeteria. His friend Tommy was out sick, and there were no more kickballs at recess. It had been a terrible day, and Raul couldn’t wait for it to end.

Molly searched through her backpack, throwing crumpled papers around her. “It has to be here somewhere!” she said. Mom rolled her eyes. “You are ALWAYS losing your homework! You need to be more responsible.”

“Are we there yet?!” Marcus asked impatiently. He couldn’t believe that he was going to Disney World for his birthday. He bounced up in down in the backseat and could feel butterflies in his stomach. The excitement was bursting from him as he ran through the gates.

As soon as Kelly got in from school, she looked over a missed math question. “Good thing I paid attention during our jeopardy review game today!” Kelly thought to herself.

Sarah is angry at her sister as they fight over her new doll. They tugged and tugged until the doll ripped in half. Sarah's face turned beet red and she stormed to her room.

Tabitha held the door for Mr. Atkinson as they entered the building. “Thank you, Tabitha!” the old man said as he hobbled down the hall. Tabitha rushed to pick up the grocery bag that Mr. Atkinson had dropped and carried it to his door. She waited while he found his keys and opened the door. “You are always so helpful!,” he said kindly.

Eric laid in the bed with his eyes wide open. He couldn't sleep, he was excited to see his grandpa at his birthday party.

Karen is forgetful. She never remembers things. She needs lots of reminders to do her chores.

Maria is saving up to buy a tablet. She is responsible with her money. Maria does chores on the weekends to earn extra money. As soon as she gets money, she puts it in her piggy bank.

As the team entered the gymnasium, Mohammad smiled. He was going to have the best basketball season ever. He could not wait for the first game to start.
