The '-ing' openers

There are millions of ways to add ''-ing openers'' to your writing. You may need to add a prepositional phrase (by, with, about, etc.) or a that to the clause to complete the opener. 

Take this sentence:

The dancers were committing ten hours each day to improving their routine.

We can begin our sentence with a more indicative opening that immediately addresses the dancers behaviour.

Committing to improving their routine, the dancers were training up to ten hours each day.
