Tendons, Ligaments and Cartilage

The skeletal system includes more than just bones. It also includes tendons, ligaments, and cartilage.

Tendons attach our bones to muscles so we can move around.

Ligaments attach bones to other bones. 

Joints

Joints allow the bones to move.

The bones at the joints are held together by ligaments. Ligaments are strong but are pretty elastic.

The end bones are covered with cartilage to stop the bones from rubbing together.
